About Barbara

A Career Devoted to Helping People

Barbara Lingenfelter, LCPC, brings more than 25 years of experience in counseling and behavioral health. Her career has spanned private practice, outpatient counseling, residential treatment, and addiction and recovery services.

Throughout her career, Barbara has also been entrusted with senior clinical leadership, serving in roles including Clinical Director, Regional Director, and Executive Director. In those positions, she has led clinical teams, supervised counselors, and helped guide the care provided to individuals and families facing complex challenges.

That experience has given Barbara something that can't be learned from a textbook: years of sitting with people, hearing their stories, and understanding that what brings someone to counseling is rarely the whole story.

Barbara's Approach
Curious. Direct. Compassionate.

Barbara asks questions and listens closely because she wants to understand more than what is happening on the surface. She is genuinely curious about your story—what has shaped you, the patterns you may be repeating, and what may be getting in the way.

She is also direct. Barbara won’t simply sit back and listen week after week. She will offer perspective, ask difficult questions when needed, and draw on decades of experience to help you see things differently. She brings compassion to the conversation, but she also believes counseling should help you move forward.

Her style is warm, honest, and practical. She brings knowledge and wisdom gained through years of experience, while treating each person and their story as unique.
